Thank you for your employment inquiry. Please take a moment to read about our agency – it is a wonderful place to work! We offer a rewarding and challenging career and an opportunity to make a difference in the community. Our staff is made up of dedicated professionals, many of whom are leaders in their fields. We offer competitive salaries and an excellent benefits package including medical and dental coverage, a 401(k) and retirement plan, long term disability, life insurance, an employee assistance program, 11 paid holidays and one personal leave day per year, as well as a generous vacation package.

Senior Services is a non-profit agency serving more than 55,000 seniors in our community each year. Our mission is to support the independence of seniors. Our purpose is to work with seniors and their families to provide services and access to resources which improve their well being, encourage and assist in the maintenance of their independence, and facilitate their full participation in community life.

Senior Services is governed by a Board of Trustees, has an annual budget of $15 million and about 240 employees. Our major funding sources include United Way, federal, state, and local taxpayer support, contributions, donations, fees, and fund-raising revenue. We offer 11 distinct programs and services, and operate 8 Senior Centers and 3 adult day health programs throughout King County. Our programs and services include:

Senior Center programs and activities are designed to meet the needs of older adults. They provide educational, recreational and socialization programs in addition to exercise, transportation, and health related services. They are located in the Central and Southeast areas of Seattle, Ballard, West Seattle, Carnation, Bothell, Vashon Island, and Shoreline.

Adult Day Health Centers offer state-certified adult day health services, which include nursing, occupational, physical and speech therapy, social work, and recreation therapy.

Meals on Wheels provides nutritious frozen home-delivered meals to eligible participants. Mobile Market provides home-delivered food, liquid nutritional supplements and other necessary items to eligible participants within the Seattle City Limits, except liquid supplements are available county-wide.

Community Dining provides nutritious meals in a congregate setting at 25 locations throughout King County.

Senior Outreach is designed to identify older persons who do not normally come into contact with traditional, existing services. Once contacted, they are informed of services and helped to participate in them. This program emphasizes service to populations that have traditionally been under served, particularly, but not limited to, the African American community.

Homesharing for Seniors is an intergenerational program that provides a low-cost housing option to keep frail and low-income senior citizens in their homes by matching them with people who need affordable housing.

Minor Home Repair provides minor structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing repairs to homes of residents of the City of Seattle, Bellevue, and Shoreline.  The need for repair must be urgent and directly related to the prevention of physical harm to the resident or public, damage to the dwelling, or necessary to maintain the resident in the home.

Senior Information and Assistance is a “one stop” or single access point for the wide range of services available to assist older individuals and those who care for them. “I & A” maintains one of the most comprehensive human services data bases in King County.

Senior Rights Assistance has trained volunteers who provide information, education, and advocacy services to seniors in specified subjects such as social security and Medicare programs. Free legal clinics are also offered in collaboration with the King County Bar Association.

Volunteer Transportation coordinates a corps of volunteers who use their own vehicles to drive and escort low-income, frail elderly to medical and other essential appointments.

Project Enhance provides health assessments, health services and referrals to primary care providers when appropriate; develops health improvement plans; and provides health promotion, exercise classes and illness management strategies for participants.

Senior Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
